1964-1965: The First Opening Titles!

The first Top of the Pops opening titles! Sadly, no full episodes of Top of the Pops exist for 1964 or 1965, so little video footage of the first presentation package exists in the archives. Back in the early 2010s someone at the BBC unearthed what is thought to be the first opening title sequence for Top of the Pops. It features the first TOTP logo, and a background of two men playing the drums, set to an unknown drum soundtrack.
