Bob Geldof is an Irish singer, songwriter, and humanitarian best known as the lead singer of "The Boomtown Rats". He achieved global recognition for his activism, organising the "Live Aid" and "Band Aid" concerts to combat famine in Ethiopia. Geldof's efforts earned him widespread admiration and a nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize. Geldof performed on Top of the Pops alongside the "The Boomtown Rats" many times.
