Ed Stewart

Ed Stewart was a popular British radio and television presenter, best known for his work on BBC Radio 1. Born in 1941, Stewart began his broadcasting career in the 1960s as a DJ on pirate radio stations before joining the BBC in 1968. He went on to become one of the most recognisable voices on Radio 1, hosting a number of shows including the weekday morning programme.

Stewart was known for his friendly and approachable style on air, and was beloved by listeners of all ages. He also had a successful television career, presenting shows such as Crackerjack and Top of the Pops. In addition to his broadcasting work, he was involved in various charitable causes.

Stewart regularly presented Top of the Pops from 1968 to 1977.

Ed "Stewpot" Stewart passed away in 2016.
