Steve Wright

Steve Wright is a British radio personality and DJ who is best known for his long-running show "Steve Wright in the Afternoon" on BBC Radio 2. Wright began his career in radio in the late-1970s. Wright joined Radio 1 in 1980.

Wright has won several awards for his work, including the Sony Radio Academy Award for Best Music Radio Show in 2011 and 2016. Wright is known for his eclectic music taste and his humorous, laid-back style of presenting. He is also famous for his popular "Factoids" segment, where he shares interesting and often bizarre facts with his listeners.

In addition to his work on Radio 2, Wright has also presented shows on BBC Radio 1, including the popular "Steve Wright Sunday Love Songs" and "Steve Wright's Big Guests." 

Steve Wright regularly hosted Top of the Pops from 1980 to 1989. Wright also presented sister show, TOTP2 from 1997 to 2009. Steve was the longest serving presenter of TOTP2.

Steve sadly passed away on 12th February 2024.
