Gary Davies is a British radio DJ and television presenter who first rose to prominence as a presenter on BBC Radio 1 in the 1980s. He began his career in radio as a teenager, working for a number of local stations before joining BBC Radio 1 in 1982. He quickly became a popular and influential figure on the station, hosting a number of shows including the Breakfast Show and the Top 40 chart countdown.
In addition to his work on the radio, Davies also presented a number of television programmes, including Top of the Pops. He left BBC Radio 1 in 1993 to pursue other projects, but returned to the BBC in 2017 to cover for a number of Radio 2 presenters.
Davies regularly presented Top of the Pops from 1982 to 1991, and he was the last Radio 1 DJ to host Top of the Pops before the show's "year zero" revamp in October 1991.
