Brian Whitehouse was a British television producer, director, and production manager who became a central figure in BBC light entertainment and music programming from the 1960s through the 1990s. Beginning his career at the BBC as a production assistant, Whitehouse steadily advanced through technical and editorial roles. He was closely associated with Top of the Pops for several decades, working in various production capacities. In the early–mid 1980s he produced and directing numerous editions during and after the Michael Hurll era. Beyond TOTP, Whitehouse produced and directed numerous major BBC events, including The Eurovision Song Contest (for which he served as producer and later executive producer), as well as live specials and New Year's Eve broadcasts.
