Ric Blaxill is a British radio and television producer and music executive, noted for his extensive contributions to popular music broadcasting. He joined the BBC in the late 1980s, working on youth and music programming including The O-Zone and the Smash Hits Poll Winners Party, before progressing to become Series Producer of Top of the Pops between 1994 and 1997. During his tenure, he oversaw a major creative relaunch of the programme, introducing a more contemporary visual identity, live performances, and an expanded roster of guest presenters drawn from the UK music and entertainment industries. Following his period on Top of the Pops, Blaxill served as Head of Music at BBC Radio 1 and later held senior roles across UK radio networks, including Head of Programmes at BBC 6 Music, and music leadership positions at Capital Radio and Bauer Media.
